What We've Been Up To

We've got a little announcement that I've neglected to make...

At the beginning of October Jason and I found out we are expecting our first little boy, due the first week of June! We have never been happier.
I left this on the bed for Jason to find. I thought it was pretty clever :)

The whole experience has been surreal, let me tell you. From the first ultrasound when my doctor told us this little bean growing inside of me would, in fact, become a baby

to our next ultrasound when he confirmed the suspicion I'd had all along that this little bean was, in fact, a baby boy
I think he looks like Jason, don't you?
to the day more than a month ago when I felt him kick for the first time, and the day just last week when Jason was able to feel his first kick (because Oliver has been a little stinker and settles down as soon as his dad walks in the room), we have been overwhelmed with gratitude for this little miracle that has come into our lives. We may have had a little too much fun stocking up on baby accessories.

He will, of course, be a die-hard Jazz fan like his parents and grandparents before him. Jason has been working hard to get our spare room ready for the new arrival. We start them young in this family.

June can't come quick enough for us.

In other news, in November my best friend got MARRIED and I got to be a bridesmaid, which was super fun.
Jason also finally went back to work after 3 months of being out of a job due to his elbow injury. He's now a Solar Performance Specialist for Vivint Solar and is enjoying his first ever desk job.
Jason on his first day at his new job. He's so cute :)
At the beginning of the year I made a few resolutions to make up for the ones I didn't make last year, and I made a little "vision board" to hang above my dresser. It's probably a little cheesy, but it might become a tradition.
And we've had lots of fun battling with Grandma and Grandpa over who gets to shovel during the storms we've had. I gave myself one snow day so far and probably should have taken at least one more. We haven't had a ton of storms, but the few we've had have sure been intense.

I'm keeping super busy between working part time and going to school. This semester I'm running a miniature research study as my final project before I GRADUATE in May! It's a little nerdy but I'm actually having fun with it and it's helping the semester pass quickly. I'm still working at the Curves gym that Jason's mom owns and loving it, and I've started teaching piano lessons again which has been so fun.

So all in all, I'd say things have been going pretty well. We're happy and busy and just counting the days until we finally meet our baby boy.
